For anyone coming to Lee DeWyze from AI I would recommend the "Reprise" version of Princess, also offered here on Amazon. He rocks out that version making it more recognizeable to Idol fans.
That being said this is now one of my favorite songs from Lee's Slumberland album. I will admit that it took me a couple of listens to switch gears from the Lee DeWyze I watched on AI to this more mellow Lee DeWyze. Now I love them both! Whatever it is about Lee's voice that has grabbed me shines through either way.
I've been listening non stop to Slumberland and So I'm Told for a couple of weeks now along with all of his Idol songs. There is an addictive quality to Lee DeWyze's voice, no matter which "style" he's singing in.

I came to check out the free download, but honestly, it's not my kind of music. Too sleepy and melancholy. Nor am I particularly a fan of Lee's voice.

Well you don't get to hear the whole song but it was so doctored up it was hard to understand what he was singing, he has a long way to go to be a good singer, I don't get AI When I listen to a song I want to hear and understand the person singing. I used to love Rimes but she distorts her words so much I can't stand to listen to her sing any more.

Lee DeWyze is one of the best new male singer/songwriters I've heard. I tend to favor female singer/songwriters, but Lee has a special tone to his voice that I haven't heard from anyone recently. For certain, will give his other albums a listen.
