Product Description From the Manufacturer Why Sanyo eneloop? Sanyo eneloop rechargeables can replace an entire kitchen drawer's worth of dry cell batteries You already know the benefits of using conventional rechargeable batteries. But Sanyo eneloop batteries have advantages over other rechargeables that put them a step ahead. Sanyo eneloop batteries are an excellent choice for your rechargeables because: * They can be used right after purchase * They consistenly yield high performance * They have a long shelf life with no loss of energy * They can be used everywhere * They are environmental friendly Self-Discharge: Why Conventional Rechargeables Don't Cut It Conventional rechargeable batteries have numerous advantages that make them great to use for your portable electronics. But they also come with certain disadvantages. After purchase, rechargeable batteries have to be charged before they can be used. And once charged, rechargeable batteries lose the stored energy rather fast. The charging takes quite long and rapid chargers are expensive. Not only that, but continuous charging or frequent charge to "top off" the lost energy (without complete discharge) can destroy the battery. All these negative attributes have one root-cause: self discharge. Self-discharge means that a charged battery slowly discharges itself without any equipment consuming any current. This is the reason for rechargeable batteries being sold in a discharged state. And this is the reason that keeping charged batteries for some time did not make any sense. When you needed them, the energy was gone. Sanyo eneloop batteries have an extremely low rate of self-discharge, which means they hold their stored energy for a very long time--charge your batteries once and put them in your kitchen drawer, and over a year from now you'll still be able to use them right away, without needing to charge them again.

Always have batteries on hand September 8, 2010 A. Scharfenberger (Nashville, TN) I decided to request some of the AA Eneloop batteries with the charger for Christmas two years ago. I have been using them since and have purchased additional packages to swap out all my old batteries. They are great for all electronics, but I do use and replace them the most in my Wii controllers and wireless mouse since they are the most used. I have not noticed any of the individual batteries loosing charge yet, even though they have had so much use. I will have another package on this year's Christmas list for sure.
These things last awhile... September 7, 2010 James P. Wong (Downey, CA USA) I bought a 4-pack of these Eneloop AA batteries awhile ago and I still use them. I would use 2 of the AA batteries in my Xbox360 wireless controller. They still last a considerably long time even now in 2010 while I play games. In fact, I haven't bought anything to replace this 4-pack in the *two years* I received them. I have a separate PowerEX charger by Maha Power that I use to charge these batteries - I don't pay attention to how long they take to charge, but I can't imagine more than an hour or two on a fully drained battery, I think.
The Xbox360 Play/Charge kit is nice, but once the battery packs are gone, that's it. I spent some $9 dollars and change two years ago, and I'm still using the same batteries.
I took a trip for three weeks in June-July and the charge levels were still maintained as well in my controller. I've also used the four in an old point and shoot Canon Powershoot when my other rechargeables were drained. I never felt like I was going to run out of juice with them.
This is a no brainer - these batteries last and are worth every penny.
Excellent for Photo gear September 7, 2010 Stephen Jones These are great batteries for the photographer! Good recycle time in my speedlight and other gear.
Very dependable rechargeables September 6, 2010 Girish Venkataraman (IL, USA) Got 4 of these last year for my off-camera flash use. After 20 odd recharges, all four 2000 mAh rated Eneloop batteries still consistently charge up to atleast 2100 mAh. None of my other batteries, including Powerex or Duracell rechargeables do the same.
BEST BATTERIES! September 5, 2010 Ron Ray (Alabama, USA) These are the very BEST rechargeable batteries (as of this posting) that you can buy!
They come "charged" from the factory... which means, they will HOLD their charge-- FOR A YEAR!
Read all the info, then get THESE batteries the next time you buy.
Enough said.
